Mission Summary
DS13's crew works to bring the station to operational status.
The USS Qaraqorum arrives on MD1 to begin the complete overhaul of the station's systems and offload station crew, including the station's Commander Rovak.
The ship carrying the rest of the crew is more than a week late, delayed by the antics and insistences of Ambassador Oriath Velt, the decadent Federation Ambassador-at-Large assigned to be based out of DS13. The station's first officer Alex Flynn and the rest of the crew board.
The station's garrison ship the USS Faraday is commissioned, and the station officially begins operation.
A few weeks later a freighter is attacked by pirates in the system, disturbing an undiscovered anomaly in the orbital path of Dreizhen IV. What appears to be a growing singularity emerges from the ruins of the freighter, trapping the Faraday on its way back from the rescue of the freighter's crew.
The Faraday manages to escape by sacrificing the Oberth-class ship's shuttles and secondary hull. As the Faraday returns, a vast and prehensile limb emerges from the event horizon, seeking to grab and strike the station. Before the tactical crew can react, the limb retracted, pulling the station into the black hole.
Within they find and defeat the main body of whatever drew them in, but quickly realise that the station will be physically unable to escape. The strange environment they find themselves in begins to crush the station, and before long the shields and hull collapse.
Rovak, Flynn and Atna find themselves in another place, greeted by a luminous being who explains that he is a watchman of 'interreality'. He returns them to where they were when the Faraday returned to the station, and explains how they can overcome the entity on the other side of the anomaly.
The station goes on the offensive, blasting the entity into submission as it undertakes the procedure advised by the watchman. Strangely, it is Romulan Ambassador Creon's daughter Rhianha who knew the complex procedures required to banish the aggressive entity and reset the anomaly.
The crew win the day, discovering the unusual 'rainbow bridge' effect that the station is capable of producing, which at an enormous cost of energy, can apparently break the connection between universes through the anomaly.
Within the CO's office, the command crew find a stash of strange items that the watchman had mentioned idly. One of them breaks open, revealing a humanoid woman of a species nobody can identify.
